The Program for Loyalist Studies and Publications

Bicentennial project to locate and reproduce all materials relating to the Loyalist experience in U.S., Canada, and England. ABSTRACT: Bicentennial project to locate and reproduce all materials relating to the Loyalist experience in U.S., Canada, and England. Jointly sponsored by universities and professional societies in the U.S., Canada and England, National Advisory Boards have been set up in each of the three countries to oversee preparation of the project. Immediate goal is to develop finding guides to all Loyalist material for publication in the Proceedings of the American Antiquarian Society. Long-range plans are to reproduce material in microfilm and publish selected material in letter-press series of volumes, not to exceed twenty. Project completion expected by 1976. Also seeks to promote exchange of students and scholars engaged in the three-nation consortium. Will throw valuable new light on a little understood and tragic aspect of the American Revolution. Funds for salaries, wages, research and microfilm preparation, National Advisory board meetings, travel, per diem communications, supplies.
