Korean Studies Institute Inaugural Conference: Korean Humanities and the Korean-American Diaspora

An academic conference on Korean and Korean-American literature, held to inaugurate a new Korean Studies Institute at George Washington University (Washington, DC).

The newly chartered George Washington University Institute for Korean Studies will launch an inaugural conference intended to spotlight and celebrate the power of the Korean Humanities and writing in particular.  The evolution of the field of literature within the broader network of the Korean Diaspora will also be explored.  Hosted in collaboration with one of Korea's premier cultural institutions, the Literature Translation Institute of Korea (LTI-Korea), the focus of the conference will be on Korean literature, including roundtable discussions on several classical works, juxtaposed against modern themes drawn from Korean American literature.
