Trumbull, governor of Connecticut before and during the Revolution (1769-84), provided supplies for the Continental Army (Connecticut became known as the "Provision State"), helped to mobilize Connecticut sentiment in favor of independence so that the Loyalist threat was far less there than in most other states. Close relationship with Washington. Trumbull important second-tier figure in American history. No comprehensive collection of his works in existence. Funds for PI's salary, assistant editor, secretarial assistance, supplies.
