Preservation for Historical Research of Correspondence and Other Papers of Trigant Burrow, MD, PhD

Trigant Burrow was a founder of the American Psychoanalytic Association and a pioneer in the study of group dynamics. He corresponded with leading figures of his day on a wide range of subjects, including the development of psycholanalysis in America, the initiation of group analysis, and biological factors involved in individual and social behavior disorder. Among Burrow's correspondents were Sigmund Freud, D.H. Lawrence, Sherwood Anderson, C.G. Jung, John Dewey, ect. Living from 1875-1950, burrow's files and papers represent a valuable research resource for social historians and scholars interested in the history of psychiatry in America.
