Music of the Penitente Brotherhood in New Mexico, and its Sources in Spain

To transcribe, from tape recordings, the music of Penitentes, a religious brotherhood which emerged as the most powerful religious and political influence in the northern New Mexico villages during the 19th century, but whose roots were in Medieval Spain. To prepare a manuscript for possible publication.
