Origins and Development of Argriculoture in the Lower Illinois Valley
To undertake an intensive analysis of plant remains from a series of archaeological sites in the lower Illinois Valley region. Components at these sites represent several cultural phases and settlement types from the period of transition between total dependence on wild resources and major reliance on crop production. Results of the botanical analysis, in conjunction with faunal analyses, will contribute to a of the sequence of subsistence strategies developed during this time span.
