Interdisciplinary Horizons in the Study of Musical Traditions, East & West: 12th Congress of the International Musicological

Supplementary funding to support an international Congress of 1,500 musicologists on the theme "Interdisciplinary Horizons in the Study of Musical Traditions, East and West." The purpose is to encourage and illuminate the application of methods and knowledge from other disciplines of the humanities to key areas of musicology, for example, the transmission of oral traditions, computer-assisted analyses, musical perception, iconography, terminology, historiography, humanism, the enlightenment, and others. Special efforts will be made to involve participants from Africa, Asia, and South America. Proceedings to be published.
