Social History of Neenah, Wisconsin's Prominent Paper Manu- facturing Families

To write a social history of the paper manufacturers of Neenah, Wisconsin. The American success story of the town, where more paper is manufactured than anywhere else in the world, is told in the extensive memoirs left by family members. By 1900 the town had the highest per capita income in the U.S. The eight leading families, related by time, place, source of wealth and economic and social position influenced and were influenced by the evolving social system of America from 1850-1930.
