The American Revolution in Maine
To study the American Revolution in the eastern part of early Massachusetts, now Maine. Major emphasis will be on issues such as why the Revolution occurred in so remote a region, and how the scattered Maine communities were able to overcome external attacks, internal dissension, and physical isolation. Project will investigate what role the successful revolution had in stimulating Maine's separation from Massachusetts.
