Abstract: Academic institutions can forge valuable bonds with their surrounding communities by sponsoring or collaborating on reading programs focused on a single book. This panel, which includes representatives from both colleges and community partners, discusses the opportunities and potential pitfalls of such endeavors, including the challenges of book selection, the logistics of event planning, the availability of funding options, and the pleasures and mutual benefits of partnership building.
