Collecting Dominican Music Memories (Public Lecture or Presentation)
Title: Collecting Dominican Music Memories
Abstract: The CUNY Dominican Studies Institute (CUNYDSI) and the Bronx Music Heritage Center (BMHC) will host an open house on Thursday, August 24, from 7pm to 9pm to record testimonies and photograph memorabilia about the history of Dominican music in New York City from active or retired Dominican composers, musicians, singers, dancers, promoters and Dominican music-lovers that have participated in the New York Dominican music scene during the last one-hundred years. All genres and manifestations of Dominican music are welcomed, from the most traditional ones to the most recent. The open house will be held at the Bronx Music Heritage Center, located at? 1303 Louis Niñé Boulevard in the Bronx. Admission is free, but space is limited, and registration is required; individuals or organizations can register at https://dominican-music-memories.eventbrite.com.
