Title: UMass Boston’s Plymouth Archaeology Project
Abstract: Please join us for an overview of the planned work for the University of Massachusetts Boston’s archaeological and geophysical investigations in the Town of Plymouth. This work is being sponsored by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, and is designed to learn more about the history and archaeology of the Town as part of the lead up to 2020. Proposed work for 2016–2018 will be described followed by a question and answer session for the audience.

Abstract: An overview of the Plymouth archaeology project presented to the Massachusetts 400 Forum, a planning group for a broad initiative to expand the 400th anniversary in Plymouth to a broader series of events marking the 400th anniversaries of Quincy, Salem, Boston and other Town in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Provided an overview of the potential value of archaeology to the Plymouth 400, in terms of opportunities for research, education, and heritage tourism.
