Abstract: A script and proposal was written for a then funded NEH Production grant proposal. Everything Seemed Possible: Luis Muñoz Marín and the Making of a Modern Puerto Rico (working title), a 90-minute documentary in English and Spanish about an era of radical transformation in Puerto Rico, a country whose fascinating and complicated relationship with the United States is not well known or understood. Our film will be the first in-depth documentary to focus on the remarkable story of Luis Muñoz Marín, known as the “father of modern Puerto Rico” and on his political, economic and cultural project, including the signficant film projects of the remarkable Division of Education and its work in the Puerto Rican countryside.
